What Are Some Very Good Reasons to Use Linux Hosting vs. Windows?
Windows vs. Linux Hosting? Hmm, Windows has the branding, the big name of Microsoft and all of the headlines about a big company wanting to help everyone, however:
a)Linux is a
far more secure system: Government sites are Linux; just about every techie uses Linux, as well. That says a lot about Linux!
b)A Linux site can be converted to a Windows site if that is needed at some point in time; however, a Windows site cannot be converted to Linux very easily! (Wonder why that is?)
c)Linux works quite well with the vast majority of all of the best programming and scripting languages. PHP, MySQL databases, and/or Perl are not a problem. Windows works with some, not so much with others.
d)Linux is Open Source software. That means that it is free! The main reasons that open sourcing is so very popular is that when you do have this type of software, you can do things with it that you do not have to get permission to do; and do not have to pay a licensing fee to accomplish!
